Beautiful and Relaxing Koh Samed

I had been to Bangkok probably 25 time and Pattaya at least 15, before I 'found' the beautiful little island of Koh Samed.  Stories about Koh Samed varied, but most said 'too crowed', dirty or expensive.  This is the reason that I had not visited even after many trips to Thailand. It certainly is not true.  In the last year I have been to Koh Samed 3 times as I have enjoyed each visit very much.  Koh Samed is a beautiful island only 3  hours south of Bangkok and a maybe a short hour and a half from Pattaya.  Conveniently accessible by bus from the Ekamai Station.  A short 1/2 hour ferry ride (100 baht R/T) and you arrive at small harbor of Koh Samed.

The bulk of the island is National Park and entrance fees are 200 baht for the adult 'foreigner'.  It is a beautiful place with a very small quaint town.  Mostly restaurants with bars and the occasional convenient store, motor cycle rental and clothing store thrown in.  The people are very friendly, helpful and I think very happy to live in such beautiful surroundings.
