Current Orphanage Agenda:

1.  Cement Pond Fish Farm Project- economical way of providing additional protein for the children.  From the numbers that I have seen with this project, the return is about 100%/year.  In other words, for a project that costs approx. $300, the orphanage would benefit with a net of $300 in protein each year.  These costs and returns are for a small two-cell project, as below.

2.  Thai- English Language Learning Project - I believe of all the skills that these children can use to 'catch up' with more 'advantaged' children, are: English and computer skills.  I want to develop and record a Thai to English learning program, focusing on the 500 most used words in the English language.  Recording done by 'native' English speakers to introduce to these children, English at a very early age.

3.  Computer Refurbishment Project/ computer and software acquisition - Acquire through donation, refurbish through existing resources computers for donation and use by orphan children, to develop skills that increase their employability and earnings.  If you have a laptop computer (Pentium, slower are not really useful) that you could donate, please CONTACT me and we will try to figure a way to be able to use it for the children.

4.  Photo Project for fund raising at 10 small orphanages - Provide on a yearly basis, finished photos that have been donated by famous people in Thailand, to be sold by the orphanage,  as a fund raising project.  This project has the potential of turning a $2K investment into $10K of working capitol for the orphanages.  Currently looking and screening orphanages who can have success with this program.

5.   Web Site design to increase visibility of Thai Orphanages for assistance/volunteers.

6.   Wine/food tasting for fund raising

7.  Work with educational systems (colleges and universities) to provide funding for projects that improve the lives of orphans through education, solar, water purification and self sufficiency farming.

8.  Eyeglass project for the Baan Unrak Orphanage.  This is a small project to collect eyeglasses that are no longer being used, for people who can not afford glasses.  The glasses will be donated to Baan Unrak for use by the Unite for Sight Project.  Since the project inception over 12,000 examinations and 50 major surgeries have been performed.  If you have eyewear that you are no longer using, please CONTACT me.  To read more about this project go to http://baandada.org/medical-outreach/
